A word from Shane..
Nissan Skyline R32GTR V-Spec - 1993 F/I
Approx Power : 550bhp
Car spec : TBC
After competing in 2007 I am really looking forward to another year in Time Attack as I thoroughly enjoyed myself last year.
A lot of time and effort has gone into general preparation for this year. The car’s engine and gearbox was rebuilt by Abbey Motorsport last year for the 2007 series to an excellent level. These remain unchanged for the 2008 season thanks to the assistance of Opie Oils for there part in looking after the car with top quality oils. Abbey Motorsport have completed the remaining modifications we felt were needed to get the car to the level we needed it to be to achieve the levels we want to achieve in 2008. These modifications have been done and they have transformed the car from last year.
The power figures are down from last year as we have changed the exhaust system but Abbey have tweaked the map to suit so we should be ok with regards to this.
After the modifications were taken care of it was time to take care of car setup and the driver, thanks to Colin at CAT driver training we took the car to Millbrook where he and Abbey put us both through the paces with concentration on setup and driver skills which I feel have made the difference to allow us to be up there with the top runners for 2008.
Thanks to Nur Motorsport a few modifications have been taken care of with the body work which includes Carbon Skin Doors, Carbon Boot and Carbon lower Splitter.
'I don't have any predictions for this season, I just want to get out there have a good time, again and enjoy the season as much if not more than last year which I have no dough’s this year will be very interesting with all the new drivers.
Last year I enjoyed all the circuits, although the inclusion of Snetterton and Oulton Park this year I feel will make the series stronger and hopefully open things up a bit more. I am really looking forward to Snetterton as I have heard a lot of good things about.
I am looking forward to seeing the cars this year as we all know that there has been a lot of work going on in the back ground with a lot of the pro cars but my favourite cars from the 2007 Time Attack Series were the RC Development cars, extremely well prepared and looked awesome.
I would like to thank the following companies and people for the assistance through last year and there continued support this year.
