About Clubman and Clubman+

Clubman and Clubman+ are the perfect starting point for full road‑going cars, and the first step into Time Attack if you want to compete with your pride and joy in a safe, professionally run environment. Whether your car is a daily driver or your occasional track day toy, this is where your competitive journey begins; with official lap times, a supportive paddock, and a friendly, welcoming class built around progression.

The idea is simple: bring a proper road car with a full interior, make a few key safety additions, and go racing (the Time Attack way). You’ll need a handheld fire extinguisher, a 4‑point driver harness, and your official Time Attack sticker pack. There’s no roll cage requirement here, and this class isn’t aimed at stripped‑out or race‑car builds. It’s about keeping things road‑car‑based, accessible, and enjoyable. Any car type can enter, as long as it meets the class requirements.

On the driver side, you’ll need the correct personal safety kit such as helmet, race suit, gloves and boots and you’ll need to apply for your Motorsport UK licence (no ARDS test required in our Clubman categories). Before you compete, your car will be scrutineered to confirm it meets the safety requirements and the relevant Clubman / Clubman+ class rules. All of the detail you’ll need — including eligibility, required items, and what modifications are permitted — is set out in the official regulations linked lower down this page, and our team is always on hand if you’d like a steer, especially if it’s your first time in a competitive setting.

You can enter as a one‑off to see how you get on (SRE — Single Round Entry), or register for the full season and chase championship points and podium celebrations. The only tyre requirement to note is that if you plan to score points and be eligible for lap records, you’ll need to run the championship control tyre: the Yokohama A052, otherwise you can use your existing road tyres.

If you’re looking for the most approachable, road‑car‑friendly way into Time Attack without turning your car into a dedicated race machine Clubman and Clubman+ are where it starts.

The class is very competitive and a wide variety of cars compete each year. If your car has more modifications than this class allows, please check our Pocket  Rocket or Club Challenge classes where further car upgrades are permitted.

EVENT FORMAT

All competitors take part in four 15-minute (minimum) on-track sessions within their class: Warm-Up, Attack 1, Attack 2 and Super Attack.

This format gives drivers multiple opportunities to refine setup and push for their quickest lap of the event, building towards the decisive Super Attack session.

Across the season, competitors perform in front of tens of thousands of spectators as the championship headlines on-track at major automotive events including Modified Live, Tunerfest, JDM Jam, GO Japan and the Obsession Car Show, providing a fantastic platform to showcase driving ability, engineering expertise and partner brands.

If you’re looking for competitive, accessible motorsport with plenty of track time, strong exposure and an unforgettable season of racing, the Time Attack Championship is the perfect place to compete.
